Another Beginning

There is a great deal of doubt and uncertainty as I stand at the edge of new waters.

Perhaps you are also at a new beginning.

As I pursue my music and begin a blog, I feel like I’m entering a new chapter in my service to the Lord.

As God invites me to step out of my comfort zone, I am finding that I am afraid of so many things.

What if nobody cares about what I’m writing?
What if I make a mistake? Everyone will see it!
What if I am actually a fool and no one is brave enough to tell me?
What if people don’t like my original music?
What if God blesses me abundantly and I start to become proud and unusable?
What if I lose my focus and my mission of glorifying God?

Nevertheless…

God is impressing on me that I have one life to live for Him and if I want His power on my life I cannot live passively. II Timothy 3:5

I believe God is encouraging me to be vulnerable, to take the risk of rejection, to make mistakes and to be uncomfortable as I do things I’ve never done before.

Is God doing this in your life?

As I ponder all of these things, God brings me peace through His Word and His promises. Isaiah 26:3

Let’s look at how God is on our side in this pursuit.

He has taught us that our reputation is in His hands. Psalm 75:6-7

He has taught us that He wants us to bear fruit and to bear it abundantly.  John 15:8

He asserts that our success brings Him glory. John 15:8

He also tells us if we do good works they will draw people to Him. Matthew 5:16

He tells us we must be good stewards of the talents He has given us. Luke 12:48b

He tells us not to hide His gifts in fear.  Proverbs 29:25

He encourages us that our hard work will bring blessings.  Proverbs 13:11

He promises that as we obey His Word, we will prosper and have good success.  Joshua 1:8

He tells us that if we are pointing people to Him then what we say has eternal value.
(Psalms 40:3)

He commands us not to be afraid.
He promises that He will be with us.
He tells us to be strong and have courage. Joshua 1:9

He tells us that underneath our sinful frame are His everlasting arms.  Deut. 33:27

We can trust Him to protect us from ourselves and from others.  Exodus 14:14, Proverbs 14:14b

We can trust Him to have mercy on us when pride overtakes us.
We can count on His gentleness if He must chastise us.  I Chronicles 21:13a

He will teach us what we need to know in this new way of serving and glorifying Him.  Job 4:3

Let’s not let fear keep us from doing what God wants us to do. Galatians 1:10
Let’s continually remember and trust God’s faithfulness and provision.  Psalm 111:4a

We will not sink in these waters as
we step up
to the edge of this new journey!
(Isaiah 43:2a)

As we arm ourselves with God’s promises and allow ourselves to be vulnerable, we can courageously step out of our comfort zone to victoriously accomplish the work God has planned for each of us!
